The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Becea CSS's Victor Berceanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabi Balint in the 8th minute of play. Victor Berceanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabi Balint in the 9th minute of play. Codrin Văcaru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Victor Berceanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Codrin Văcaru during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Codrin Văcaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mihăiţă Neața didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valeriu Urderean went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Becea CSS's Victor Berceanu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Becea CSS from getting a goal against them. Toader Colceriu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Becea CSS booed when Steaua București was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ilie Adrian didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gabi Balint in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Victor Berceanu saved Becea CSS from getting behind.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Toader Colceriu was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rdth minute of the game Gabi Balint who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Becea CSS's Victor Berceanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nechifor Groșan kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After 64 played minutes Steaua București got a freekick which was hit by Ilie Adrian. Toader Colceriu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 68th minute. Becea CSS's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Victor Berceanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Codrin Văcaru's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Gabi Balint fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Berceanu having to interfere. After 80 minutes, Petre Coșmeanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Becea CSS and the Steaua București players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience was convinced that Toader Colceriu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mihăiţă Neața was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Victor Berceanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gabi Balint's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. After a rather tough play, Steaua București's Ilie Adrian got a free kick in the 95th minute. Steaua București's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
