Cermeiu AC's Iulian Costandin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ion Filipoiu in the 13th minute of play. Ionel Vătafu charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ionel Vătafu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Iulian Costandin came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Talp's Luca Atanasiu. But to his dismay, Luca Atanasiu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After 20 minutes, Gelu Cotuțiu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Talp and the Cermeiu AC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gelu Cotuțiu hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Dorin Balint's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Irinel Hăulică was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Niculae Bogătan hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ion Filipoiu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Cermeiu AC's Toader Vancea got a free kick in the 58th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ion Filipoiu in the 63rd minute of play forced Cermeiu AC's goalkeeper Iulian Costandin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
