Adam Şerbănescu in the 11thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Grigore Lăcătuș, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 13 played minutes Liverpool FC got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Beniuc. In the 16th minute, Valer Feraru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a good free kick, Valer Feraru got an opportunity to smash the ball into the goal, but unfortunately, the ball went just outside the goal, which resulted in a goal kick for Liverpool FC. Valer Feraru struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Horaţiu Avramescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Poju. In the 22nd minute Vintilă Butuc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horaţiu Avramescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Dinu Trifănucă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the match, Poju's goalkeeper Grigore Lăcătuș had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adam Şerbănescu. Grigore Lăcătuș was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Adam Şerbănescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Grigore Lăcătuș having to make a save. If Mugur Ielciu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cezar Boacă struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Grigore Lăcătuș didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Liverpool FC. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cezar Boacă got free with Grigore Lăcătuș in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The long shot by Octavian Cezariu in the 48th minute really tested Grigore Lăcătuș's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adam Şerbănescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ciprian Nae sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Poju's Mugur Ielciu got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Grigore Lăcătuș made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciprian Nae in the 62nd minute of play. Valer Feraru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mugur Ielciu's late challenge caught a Liverpool FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mugur Ielciu helped the player get up and apologised. Ciprian Nae sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Grigore Lăcătuș showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Şerbănescu in the 78th minute of the match. When Ciprian Nae came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Liverpool FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ciprian Nae couldn't finish the play. When the referee ended the match the Liverpool FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
