Costel Răduța showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ionică Obreja, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Cornel Beșliu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ionel Fințescu in the 37th minute of play. If Răzvan Simionică had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. Cristi Chindriș who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Costel Răduța when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ionel Fințescu in the 64th minute of play forced Păsări Roșii's goalkeeper Cornel Beșliu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute Ionel Fințescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornel Beșliu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Păsări Roșii's zone, Ionel Fințescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cornel Beșliu came out of the goal and Ionel Fințescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
