That made the score 1-0 after 4 minutes of play. Dacian Cristea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Octavian Oargă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Viorel Drăucean showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcu Martin, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After 13 minutes, Adrian Murgoci made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Nittony Lions's Viorel Drăucean tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Nittony Lions booed when WFL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rareș Graur didn't get a good kick on the ball. WFL's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nittony Lions the free kick. Rareș Graur kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adrian Murgoci in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Viorel Drăucean prevented the ball from getting in the gole. WFL's Dacian Cristea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save WFL from getting a goal against them. Viorel Drăucean made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrian Murgoci in the 29th minute of play. If Rareș Graur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The WFL fans' excitement grew in the 44th match minute when WFL's Adrian Murgoci looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adrian Murgoci was the one to do the kick off. Viorel Drăucean showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcu Martin, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Adrian Murgoci's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Viorel Drăucean read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Octavian Oargă had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dacian Cristea. WFL's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Octavian Oargă was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Viorel Drăucean made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrian Murgoci in the 59th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Nittony Lions's zone, Martin Mandoiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Viorel Drăucean came out of the goal and Martin Mandoiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adrian Murgoci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcu Martin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If George Goma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 66 minutes into the match, WFL's Adrian Murgoci sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Viorel Drăucean narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Claudiu Valeca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Adrian Murgoci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the match, Octavian Oargă had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dacian Cristea. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adrian Murgoci in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Viorel Drăucean saved Nittony Lions from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Nittony Lions's zone, Rareș Graur stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Viorel Drăucean came out of the goal and Rareș Graur tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 83rd minute of the match Rareș Graur shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Viorel Drăucean showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With his leg Viorel Drăucean managed to avoid a goal in the 85thth minute, when WFL's Adrian Murgoci fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Adrian Murgoci received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Viorel Drăucean tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. WFL's Rareș Graur got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to WFL getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Marcu Martin hit a great ball. WFL's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Nittony Lions had won, even though WFL had held more of the ball.
