In the 6th minute, Ionel Alupoaie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Moise Dascălu got free with Lucrețiu Şerb in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 14 minutes into the game, Mugur Semeghin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. F.C. Brasov's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stenea the free kick. Bogdan Boroș showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorel Oțeteleșanu in the 15th minute of the match. F.C. Brasov's Moise Dascălu was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 18th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Nistor Albulescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bogdan Boroș having to interfere. Moise Dascălu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Lucrețiu Şerb made a huge save. The supporters of F.C. Brasov booed when Stenea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Dudău didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucrețiu Şerb made an important save on a dangerous shot by Moise Dascălu in the 30th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ionel Alupoaie in the 32nd minute of play forced F.C. Brasov's goalkeeper Bogdan Boroș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Moise Dascălus short, quick shot in the 34thth minute got Lucrețiu Şerb to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Stenea's Octavian Gheorghe got a free kick in the 34th minute. 38 minutes into the match, F.C. Brasov's Iacob Chibulcutean sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lucrețiu Şerb narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 41 minutes, Iacob Chibulcutean managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C. Brasov's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iacob Chibulcutean was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

But to his dismay, Moise Dascălu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Lucrețiu Şerb took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moise Dascălu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. F.C. Brasov's Ivan Panciu got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 68 minutes into the match, Stenea's goal looked a bit too open when Iacob Chibulcutean came free, but Lucrețiu Şerb reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th minute, Sebastian Dudău hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the Stenea players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for F.C. Brasov.
