Costel Mateescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabian Demian having to interfere. The YR☆ FCSB fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when YR☆ FCSB's Costel Mateescu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpected shot in the 23rd minute by Octav Ţirpescu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 28th minute Costel Mateescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Demian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Sámuel Szűrös came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the YR☆ FCSB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sámuel Szűrös couldn't finish the play. Costel Mateescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 33 minutes into the game, Ivan Dragnea cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Fabian Demian was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 36 minutes into the game, one of F.C. Ripensia Timişoara:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The audience was convinced that Costel Mateescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabian Demian was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Maghiran couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dorin Brănescu was the one to do the kick off. Costel Mateescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabian Demian having to interfere. Ripensia Timişoara's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Costel Mateescu was slow to take the kick. During this time YR☆ FCSB's players had a chance to rest. Fabian Demian made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Sámuel Szűrös sent off a good shot on target.
