After having played for 7 minutes, Daniel Vulpe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Liverpool's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Vulpe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Moise Nedelciu's late challenge caught a Liverpool's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Moise Nedelciu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th minute, Moise Nedelciu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eusebiu Mareș showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dumitru Șerbulescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. The Ciorobereni CS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octav Iorgulescu in the 22nd minute of play forced Ciorobereni CS's goalkeeper Eric Ştoia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Liverpool's goal looked a bit too open when Sever Ispas came free, but Eusebiu Mareș reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Octav Iorgulescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ciorobereni CS's Eric Ştoia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octav Iorgulescu in the 43rd minute of play. In the 46th minute, Dumitru Șerbulescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Octav Iorgulescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcu Ionașcu hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. When Octav Iorgulescu came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Liverpool fans jumped to their feet.
