It was a penalty for Club Atlético Timișoara! With a little luck, Club Atlético Timișoara's Teodor Feroiu got control of the ball when Nechifor Chibulcutean tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cătălin Aronescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandru Maia in the 25th minute of the match. 26 minutes into the game, Israel Ricoy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atlético Timișoara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Steaua Lehliu the free kick. Israel Ricoy hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Club Atlético Timișoara's attentive Israel Ricoy managed to snatch the ball when Eustaquio Merexildo made a throw-in in the 29th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in FC Steaua Lehliu's zone, Alexandru Maia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cătălin Aronescu came out of the goal and Alexandru Maia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alexandru Maia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Alexandru Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cătălin Aronescu came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Atlético Timișoara's Alexandru Maia. But to his dismay, Alexandru Maia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

In the 51st match minute, Club Atlético Timișoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iosif Encuțescu to maneuver through the defense. After 64 minutes, Martin Zgaroi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Atlético Timișoara and the FC Steaua Lehliu players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Valentin Gar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Valer Mândru managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético Timișoara's supporters rose to their feet, but Valer Mândru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cătălin Aronescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Iustin Neagoe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Cătălin Aronescu made a huge save. Israel Ricoy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Cătălin Aronescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 91 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Alexandru Maia sped through FC Steaua Lehliu's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cătălin Aronescu. Club Atlético Timișoara made a substitution. Doru Covrig replaced Valer Mândru. When the match was over Club Atlético Timișoara could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Steaua Lehliu throughout the match.
