Popcorn Miner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Lauria having to interfere. Popcorn Miner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Frank Lauria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Champions Iasi defense, Popcorn Miner kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Frank Lauria. The Champions Iasi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Frank Lauria should have stopped the shot. If Popcorn Miner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute, Popcorn Miner left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CS Minerul 03 CAVNIC ⚒ MM fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Champions Iasi's zone, Popcorn Miner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frank Lauria came out of the goal and Popcorn Miner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniele De Rossi in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Helmuth Miner saved CS Minerul 03 CAVNIC ⚒ MM from getting behind. After 34 minutes CS Minerul 03 CAVNIC ⚒ MM's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Corneliu Lupescu who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniele De Rossi in the 37th minute of play forced CS Minerul 03 CAVNIC ⚒ MM's goalkeeper Helmuth Miner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

If Popcorn Miner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frank Lauria had in the 54thth minute some difficulties stopping Dodorol Miner's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Popcorn Miner in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frank Lauria prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 65thth minute of the game Popcorn Miner who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Champions Iasi's Frank Lauria was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Frank Lauria made an important save on a dangerous shot by Popcorn Miner in the 66th minute. Daniele De Rossi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Helmuth Miner read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Champions Iasi's Iustin Coporan got a free kick in the 94th minute. 98 minutes into the match, Champions Iasi's goal looked a bit too open when Popcorn Miner came free, but Frank Lauria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle sounded CS Minerul 03 CAVNIC ⚒ MM left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Champions Iasi.
