An unexpectedly hard shot by Kuuno Tälli in the 5th minute of play forced Romania's goalkeeper Leontin Racoviceanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 7 minutes had been played when some careless play by Romania's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Oscar Colon was slow to take the kick. During this time Viola Invest's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Oscar Colon got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Leontin Racoviceanu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some careless play in the Romania defense, Stig-Åke Gabrielsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leontin Racoviceanu. The Romania fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leontin Racoviceanu should have stopped the shot. Andrei Marioara kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, Viola Invest's Kuuno Tälli sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leontin Racoviceanu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With his leg Dumitru Doloman managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Romania's Cazimir Pătran fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 24 minutes into the match, Romania's goal looked a bit too open when Stig-Åke Gabrielsson came free, but Leontin Racoviceanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romania's Toader Burca got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
