The crowd rose to their feet as SK Annenieki's Ludis Vaicātājs slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Saivis Kikals. That made the score 1-0 after 7 minutes of play. After 11 minutes FC Riga's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Reinholds Jaunzems who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Drosmis Kalnaiza got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Saivis Kikals quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Marin Ailenei struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Jānis Lielais didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Riga. Through an outstanding action, after 17 minutes, Saivis Kikals successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jānis Lielais took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marin Ailenei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SK Annenieki's Jānis Lielais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marin Ailenei in the 30th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Artūrs Sagalats in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Saivis Kikals prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 37th minute SK Annenieki were awarded a corner. Reinholds Jaunzems went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on SK Annenieki's corner Reinholds Jaunzems fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Saivis Kikals quite easily take care of the ball. Marin Ailenei recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 42nd minute, Marin Ailenei got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 43 minutes into the match, SK Annenieki's goal looked a bit too open when Marin Ailenei came free, but Jānis Lielais reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the SK Annenieki defense, Marin Ailenei kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jānis Lielais. The SK Annenieki fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jānis Lielais should have stopped the shot. After 47 played minutes FC Riga got a freekick which was hit by Dāvis Pipiris. In the 50th minute Reinholds Jaunzems shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saivis Kikals saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Artūrs Sagalats made the kick off in the second half. Mareks Belis kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. The supporters of FC Riga booed when SK Annenieki was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mareks Belis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jānis Lielais showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nils Dortāns, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Artūrs Sagalats sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of SK Annenieki booed when FC Riga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laimiņs Veterbergs didn't get a good kick on the ball. 72 minutes into the match, SK Annenieki's goalkeeper Jānis Lielais had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marin Ailenei. In the 74th minute Indris Tomass shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saivis Kikals saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 76th minute of the match, Marin Ailenei got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jānis Lielais was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a rather tough play, FC Riga's Marin Ailenei got a free kick in the 84th minute. SK Annenieki made a substitution. Vilis Lettlands replaced Drosmis Kalnaiza. SK Annenieki's Viestards Graudiņš was substituted for Renāts Skipors. In the 86th match minute, FC Riga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marin Ailenei to maneuver through the defense. Marin Ailenei struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Jānis Lielais didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Riga. After a rather tough play, FC Riga's Normunds Brencāns got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 90th minute, Indris Tomass ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Saivis Kikals was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Saivis Kikals made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reinholds Jaunzems in the 93rd minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. SK Annenieki fully deserved thier win.
