Saivis Kikals showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yussuf Poulsen in the 5th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nils Dortāns in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jude Crocker saved TΞKMΛN FC from getting behind. After a rather tough play, TΞKMΛN FC's Yussuf Poulsen got a free kick in the 9th minute. Jude Crocker stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marin Ailenei's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. 13 minutes into the match, TΞKMΛN FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marin Ailenei came free, but Jude Crocker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marin Ailenei in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jude Crocker prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 15th minute, Aivis Kvjatkēvics hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute of the match Voldemārs Cariņš sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jude Crocker skillfully saved the ball. With a little luck, FC Riga's Saivis Kikals got control of the ball when Kristofers Sajuks tried to sneak it across the goal line. Normunds Brencāns fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jude Crocker having to interfere. FC Riga were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after TΞKMΛN FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Voldemārs Cariņš took the corner. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Marin Ailenei got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-1. 28 minutes into the match. Jude Crocker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marin Ailenei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 32 minutes TΞKMΛN FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Voldemārs Cariņš who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on FC Riga's corner Voldemārs Cariņš fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jude Crocker quite easily take care of the ball. In the 34thth minute of the game Marin Ailenei who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but TΞKMΛN FC's Jude Crocker was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. FC Riga's Voldemārs Cariņš pulled a muscle in his back after 43 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Vilmārs Felbergs fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored TΞKMΛN FC's protests and gave Vilmārs Felbergs a yellow card for diving instead. FC Riga's Kaspars Ketris was substituted for Voldemārs Cariņš. In the 44th minute, Vilmārs Felbergs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half FC Riga were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marin Ailenei was the one to do the kick off. FC Riga's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
