An unexpectedly hard shot by Stanislovas Kubilas in the 6th minute of play forced Voveriukai's goalkeeper Ata Hand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 9th minute by Feliksas Godeliauskas got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 12th minute, Vygandas Dargenis fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Ata Hand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stanislovas Kubilas, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute, Feliksas Godeliauskas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Voveriukai's Ata Hand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juras Klusas in the 29th minute of play. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 39 minutes into the game, Jokūbas Jagutis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kulionys's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Voveriukai the free kick. 38 minutes into the game, one of Kulionys:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Hubertas Rimkevičius went to the wrong direction when Vygandas Dargenis was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Algirdas Baltakis took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hubertas Rimkevičius. Hubertas Rimkevičius dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stanislovas Kubilas made a kick off. Voveriukai's Ata Hand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stanislovas Kubilas in the 52nd minute of play. Ignas Zuoza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ata Hand having to interfere. Juras Klusas's late challenge caught a Voveriukai's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juras Klusas helped the player get up and apologised. Juras Klusas kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Feliksas Godeliauskas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Hubertas Rimkevičius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Feliksas Godeliauskas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 76 played minutes Voveriukai got a freekick which was hit by Feliksas Godeliauskas. In the 81st minute, Juras Klusas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juozas Meškauskas charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juozas Meškauskas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 84 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Kulionys! In the 86th minute there was a penalty for Voveriukai. Vygandas Dargenis stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Hubertas Rimkevičius. 2-0. After 90 played minutes Kulionys got a freekick which was hit by Stanislovas Kubilas. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Voveriukai fans cheered their team off the field, for while Kulionys had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
