A collision led to HC GRIFAS getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Vidas Gleveckas hit a great ball. Rūtenis Genčiauskas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vėjas Žalpys in the 32nd minute of the match. Vaclovas Uogintas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, HC GRIFAS's Saulius Barkus got a free kick in the 37th minute. Rūtenis Genčiauskas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vėjas Žalpys, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vidmantas Milašauskas hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 41st match minute, HC GRIFAS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vidas Gleveckas to maneuver through the defense. Jonas Banys fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rūtenis Genčiauskas having to interfere. If Jurgis Oginskis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vidas Gleveckas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tauras Virbickas having to interfere.

Rūtenis Genčiauskas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jurgis Oginskis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Tauras Virbickas made a huge save. When Jurgis Oginskis came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the HC GRIFAS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jurgis Oginskis couldn't finish the play. Vėjas Žalpys received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Rūtenis Genčiauskas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benas Danilevičius in the 81st minute of play forced HC GRIFAS's goalkeeper Rūtenis Genčiauskas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rūtenis Genčiauskas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Benas Danilevičius went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind HC GRIFAS's goalkeeper Rūtenis Genčiauskas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 97 minutes into the game, Daugirdas Čiuzas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. HC GRIFAS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FBK Žalgirio the free kick. After 96 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for HC GRIFAS!
