When Šarūnas Ambrasas fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kropilai's protests and gave Šarūnas Ambrasas a yellow card for diving instead. After 39 played minutes, FC Joniskis's Marius Matusevičius shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eurelijus Kirklys came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Joniskis reached it. Ąžuolas Gesaitis kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, Juozas Dagilis dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Eurelijus Kirklys, 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Alfonsas Kančelskis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dominykas Mikėnas in the 79th minute of the match. After having played for 82 minutes, Juozas Dagilis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Joniskis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juozas Dagilis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd minute, Klemensas Labuckas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eurelijus Kirklys was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. In the 87th minute, Vidas Remeika hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 89th minute, Juozas Dagilis made a precise shot to the right of Eurelijus Kirklys. Kropilai's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. After a defensive mix-up in Kropilai's zone, Klemensas Labuckas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eurelijus Kirklys came out of the goal and Klemensas Labuckas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kropilai's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
