After a defensive mix-up in Laliσtis BC's zone, Thrasivoulos Kabolis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Minas Karalexis came out of the goal and Thrasivoulos Kabolis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Laliσtis BC's Manos Vakros in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Néa Málgara's goalie prevented a goal. Kostas Viglakis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alkinoos Theodorakos having to interfere. Laliσtis BC's Minas Karalexis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Laliσtis BC from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Thrasivoulos Kabolis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Néa Málgara's supporters rose to their feet, but Thrasivoulos Kabolis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Minas Karalexis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Andreas Kalomantis hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Alkinoos Theodorakos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manos Vakros in the 35th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Néa Málgara's Petros Charalambakis got a free kick in the 36th minute. When Laliσtis BC's Manos Vakros in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thrasivoulos Kabolis made a kick off. When Giannis Moustakis fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Néa Málgara's protests and gave Giannis Moustakis a yellow card for diving instead. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Néa Málgara! The referee gave Laliσtis BC a penalty, 54 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Dimitris Chatzis, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Néa Málgara's Alkinoos Theodorakos. 0-1. Thrasivoulos Kabolis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Minas Karalexis having to make a save. Stathis Amanatidis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Minas Karalexis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Manos Vakros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Laliσtis BC's supporters rose to their feet, but Manos Vakros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stathis Amanatidis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
