The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Marios Kanaris left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The BRAVE LIONS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stavros Stravelakis in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aggelos Perperidis saved Thriamvos Athinon from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marios Kanaris got free with Aggelos Perperidis in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thriamvos Athinon's Christos Karalexopoulos got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 25 minutes into the match, BRAVE LIONS's goal looked a bit too open when Christos Karalexopoulos came free, but Thanasis Topalidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute Christos Karalexopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thanasis Topalidis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aggelos Perperidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sotiris Nikolaidis, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Thanasis Topalidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christos Karalexopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Markos Fotakos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thanasis Topalidis having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christos Karalexopoulos in the 41st minute of play forced BRAVE LIONS's goalkeeper Thanasis Topalidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute, Christos Karalexopoulos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After a rather tough play, Thriamvos Athinon's Markos Fotakos got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Thanasis Topalidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christos Karalexopoulos, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stavros Stravelakis in the 56th minute of play forced Thriamvos Athinon's goalkeeper Aggelos Perperidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. BRAVE LIONS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 61st minute, when Christos Karalexopoulos scored to the left of an out of position Thanasis Topalidis, making the score, 1-1. In the 66th match minute, Thriamvos Athinon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giotis Chatziioannou to maneuver through the defense. In the 70thth minute of the game Stavros Stravelakis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Thriamvos Athinon's Aggelos Perperidis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Aggelos Perperidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stratos Koutsilas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christos Karalexopoulos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christos Karalexopoulos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thanasis Topalidis having to make a save. If Christos Karalexopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Christos Karalexopoulos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thanasis Topalidis having to interfere. If Stavros Stravelakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aggelos Perperidis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stratos Koutsilas in the 87th minute of the match. Aggelos Perperidis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Stratos Koutsilas went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to BRAVE LIONS getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Nikiforos Skliros hit a great ball. After having played for 95 minutes, Ntinos Alexandris managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Thriamvos Athinon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ntinos Alexandris was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The BRAVE LIONS players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
