Fragiskos Kanakis who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 5thth minute tested the skills of Giorgos Petkakis when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Gortynia's Thomas Stavrou slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Giorgos Petkakis. That made the score 1-0 after 9 minutes of play. Thomas Stavrou's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 13thth minute, Giorgos Petkakis skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With his leg Giorgos Petkakis managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Gortynia's Fragiskos Kanakis fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a little luck, Porta's Giorgos Petkakis got control of the ball when Thomas Stavrou tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fragiskos Kanakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Giorgos Petkakis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Fragiskos Kanakis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Veniamin Leanis kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Dimitris Psikos was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 30th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Anestis Fanakos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thanos Psikos in the 32nd minute of the match. Giorgos Petkakis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thomas Stavrou went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lambis Spanoudakis during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 42nd minute, Lambis Spanoudakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thomas Stavrou could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Giorgos Petkakis made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Gortynia's Anestis Fanakos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thanos Psikos in the 55th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Thomas Stavrou put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Giorgos Petkakis. 64 minutes into the match, Gortynia's Thomas Stavrou sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Giorgos Petkakis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 65th minute, Eugenios Stergioudas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 66 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Thomas Stavrou sped through Porta's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Giorgos Petkakis. In the 78th minute Thomas Stavrou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giorgos Petkakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Fragiskos Kanakis came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Gortynia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fragiskos Kanakis couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fragiskos Kanakis in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Giorgos Petkakis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Porta's Giorgos Petkakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomas Stavrou in the 83rd minute of play. If Thomas Stavrou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giorgos Petkakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Stavrou in the 91st minute of the match. Fotis Stergallas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giorgos Petkakis having to interfere. There was no doubt that Gortynia were the better team. Gortynia's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
