After 4 played minutes AEK SFC got a freekick which was hit by Thanos Tsabis. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Fanis Gaitanis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chrysodouli's supporters rose to their feet, but Fanis Gaitanis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iordanis Prinianakis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 9 played minutes AEK SFC got a freekick which was hit by Anastasios Venetis. Koulis Varkaris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stratos Topalidis in the 17th minute of play. Iordanis Prinianakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fanis Gaitanis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of AEK SFC booed when Chrysodouli was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fotis Psomiadis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute Fanis Gaitanis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iordanis Prinianakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Themos Kourbanas kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stratos Topalidis made a kick off. AEK SFC's Iordanis Prinianakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandros Peponis in the 55th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Alexandros Peponis managed to get in a good position for a shot. The referee ignored AEK SFC's protests and gave Fondas Stergiotis a yellow card for diving instead. Fondas Stergiotis kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Fanis Gaitanis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iordanis Prinianakis having to interfere. 72 minutes in the game, Fanis Gaitanis fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Iordanis Prinianakis having to interfere. The AEK SFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Alexandros Peponis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in AEK SFC's zone, Alexandros Peponis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iordanis Prinianakis came out of the goal and Alexandros Peponis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 92 minutes, Themos Kourbanas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chrysodouli and the AEK SFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 92 played minutes Chrysodouli got a freekick which was hit by Themos Kourbanas. Chrysodouli's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because AEK SFC had won, even though Chrysodouli had held more of the ball.
