But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Theofanis Kazantzakis couldn't finish the play. If Nikos Pantazopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anthimos Georgiou kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Panos Sakaridis kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute of the match Fanis Vranas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lakis Kaltsas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Nikos Pantazopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Theofanis Kazantzakis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marousi's supporters rose to their feet, but Theofanis Kazantzakis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lakis Kaltsas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marousi's Nikos Pantazopoulos got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nikos Pantazopoulos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lakis Kaltsas having to interfere. Lakis Kaltsas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nikos Pantazopoulos went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nikos Pantazopoulos in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lakis Kaltsas saved New Olympiacos FC from getting behind. Ilias Veniamin kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the match, New Olympiacos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nikos Pantazopoulos came free, but Lakis Kaltsas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

With a little luck, New Olympiacos FC's Lakis Kaltsas got control of the ball when Theofanis Kazantzakis tried to sneak it across the goal line. 55 minutes into the match, Marousi's Theofanis Kazantzakis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lakis Kaltsas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lakis Kaltsas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nikos Pantazopoulos in the 96th minute of the match. Marousi's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
