With his leg Panos Stergalas managed to avoid a goal in the 4thth minute, when kallithea fc's Dimitris Bourlokas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 5 played minutes kallithea fc got a freekick which was hit by Lakis Katogas. Gerasimos Kavaliaratos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dimosthenis Tzalakostas went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 11th minute, Nikos Kazoleas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 13th minute, Dimosthenis Tzalakostas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gerasimos Kavaliaratos was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 17th minute Dimosthenis Tzalakostas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerasimos Kavaliaratos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Panos Stergalas came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by kallithea fc's Nikitas Spetsieris. But to his dismay, Nikitas Spetsieris quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 21st minute, Dimosthenis Tzalakostas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nikolas Tsiartas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Panos Stergalas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evripidis Nikologiannis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 29th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gerasimos Kavaliaratos. kallithea fc's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 30 minutes into the game, MELATES F.C.'s Dimosthenis Tzalakostas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gerasimos Kavaliaratos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Antonis Antonakos hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After 35 minutes of play, MELATES F.C.'s Tasos Valassatos made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gerasimos Kavaliaratos was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 42nd minute, Dimosthenis Tzalakostas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gerasimos Kavaliaratos was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. After 46 played minutes kallithea fc got a freekick which was hit by Lambis Karagiotis.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dimosthenis Tzalakostas to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of MELATES F.C. booed when kallithea fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sofoklis Lazaridis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 53 played minutes MELATES F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Takis Dimou. Dimitris Bourlokas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dimosthenis Tzalakostas in the 63rd minute of play forced kallithea fc's goalkeeper Gerasimos Kavaliaratos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When kallithea fc's Nikitas Spetsieris in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Panos Stergalas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lakis Katogas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Panos Stergalas having to interfere. Nikolas Tsiartas struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Panos Stergalas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for kallithea fc. After having played for 81 minutes, Lakis Katogas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. kallithea fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lakis Katogas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Takis Dimou kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Gerasimos Kavaliaratos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dimosthenis Tzalakostas in the 86th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Tasos Valassatos made a precise shot to the right of Gerasimos Kavaliaratos. kallithea fc's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-6. Nikitas Spetsieris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gerasimos Kavaliaratos was out of position in the 95 minute of play, and Dimosthenis Tzalakostas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dimosthenis Tzalakostas really showed his touch with that goal: 3-7. The MELATES F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing MELATES F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
