In the 74th match minute, Panathinaikos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomas Valkanas to maneuver through the defense. Gusmão Brito's late challenge caught a Panathinaikos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gusmão Brito helped the player get up and apologised. In the 83rd match minute, Vrasidas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gusmão Brito to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 85 minutes, Gusmão Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vrasidas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gusmão Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 92nd minute, Thomas Valkanas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Panathinaikos getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Achilleas Nikolaou hit a great ball. Vrasidas FC played a much better game than Panathinaikos and deserved their victory. The Panathinaikos players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
