The audience was convinced that Atso Welling's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Keijo Hedberg was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. A beautiful save bye FC Lölliät's goalie prevented a goal. If Kimmo Välimäki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, FC Lölliät's Niilo Wesslin got a free kick in the 15th minute. Atso Welling received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Keijo Hedberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Keijo Hedberg came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Riffe United's Kauko Virta. But to his dismay, Kauko Virta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miika Känsäkangas in the 25th minute of play forced Riffe United's goalkeeper Daavid Hiukka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute, Niilo Wesslin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Lölliät fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 31 minutes into the match, Kimmo Välimäki had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Keijo Hedberg. FC Lölliät's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kimmo Välimäki was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in FC Lölliät's zone, Sami Tervo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Keijo Hedberg came out of the goal and Sami Tervo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Riffe United getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Taavetti Pihlanen hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Atso Welling in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Keijo Hedberg saved FC Lölliät from getting behind. Mika Niemelä sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Miika Känsäkangas made the kick off in the second half. Atso Welling struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Keijo Hedberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Riffe United. In the 54th minute, Kimmo Välimäki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Atso Welling came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Riffe United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Atso Welling couldn't finish the play. Atso Welling struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Keijo Hedberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Riffe United. Heikki Paananen struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Daavid Hiukka didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Lölliät. After some careless play in the Riffe United defense, Heikki Paananen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daavid Hiukka. The Riffe United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daavid Hiukka should have stopped the shot. Niilo Wesslin kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Kimmo Välimäki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Keijo Hedberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Atso Welling, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Heikki Paananen kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. 98 minutes into the match, Riffe United's Atso Welling sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Keijo Hedberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
