Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rafael Kiprusoff started the match with the kick off. Kaleva Heinola was a little too slow when Celso Acevedo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 3rd minute. The score was now 1-0. After 9th play minutes Reynaldo Todor shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Kaleva Heinola and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 13th minute, Ukko Kulonen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Rafael Kiprusoff sped through Ruukki's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marko Nyyssönen. After 19 played minutes Ruukki got a freekick which was hit by Kalle Myllyniemi. 22 minutes into the match, Ajax Ajax's goalkeeper Kaleva Heinola had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aukusti Paaso. The supporters of Ajax Ajax booed when Ruukki was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kari Sihvonen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paul Jokinen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Kaleva Heinola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the game, Celso Acevedo lined in a short shot 3-1 behind a frustrated Kaleva Heinola. Ajax Ajax's Kaleva Heinola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celso Acevedo in the 34th minute of play. Celso Acevedo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kaleva Heinola came out and tried to block the shot, but Celso Acevedo slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 37th minute. Celso Acevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaleva Heinola having to interfere. After having played for 47 minutes, Reynaldo Todor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ruukki's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reynaldo Todor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Kari Sihvonen charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kari Sihvonen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Ruukki's Kari Sihvonen got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 56th minute Celso Acevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kaleva Heinola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 57th minute, Reynaldo Todor left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ruukki fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. If Reynaldo Todor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute, Celso Acevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th minute, Panu Kangasniemi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Marko Nyyssönen was a little too slow when Rafael Kiprusoff got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 93rd minute. The score was now 6-4. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ruukki had played much better football throughout.
