The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dimosthenis Horiatis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Anios Vrettos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 10 minutes into the match, Apoel Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Makhaon Papadis came free, but Thoralf Hong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thoralf Hong didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Xanthos Routsis went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. 18 minutes into the game, Thrinakie Pagonis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Anios Vrettos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aigimios Doukatelis kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Pappadátes BC's Anios Vrettos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dimosthenis Horiatis in the 31st minute of play. Anios Vrettos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimosthenis Horiatis, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 34 minutes into the match, Pappadátes BC's goal looked a bit too open when Dimosthenis Horiatis came free, but Anios Vrettos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Apoel Stars were winning 2-4.

54 minutes into the match, Pappadátes BC's goal looked a bit too open when Nessos Yfantis came free, but Anios Vrettos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 57 minutes, Dimosthenis Horiatis made it 2-5 with a short kick to the right side. Pappadátes BC's Anios Vrettos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Dimosthenis Horiatiss short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Anios Vrettos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Anios Vrettos made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Dimosthenis Dioletis sent off a good shot on target. Ademtos Papanicolaou's late challenge caught a Apoel Stars's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ademtos Papanicolaou helped the player get up and apologised. Ademtos Papanicolaou hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Lykomedes Demas from long distance, 87 minutes into the match, got Anios Vrettos's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Anios Vrettos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dimosthenis Horiatis in the 92nd minute. Apoel Stars's Dimosthenis Horiatis got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
