An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Loyola in the 3rd minute of play forced ЦСКА's goalkeeper Radoy Gúrgov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 3 minutes into the match, ЦСКА's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Loyola came free, but Radoy Gúrgov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stavri Radinski kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, ЦСКА's Tinko Yashov threw himself towards the right post 7 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ernest Spoelbergs, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 10 minutes into the match, ЦСКА's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Loyola came free, but Radoy Gúrgov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute, Belcho Hlebarov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tinko Yashov was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Belcho Hlebarov in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tinko Yashov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 35th minute Alfredo Verdini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radoy Gúrgov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernest Spoelbergs blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tinko Yashov having to make a save. Tinko Yashov made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Belcho Hlebarov sent off a good shot on target. Tinko Yashov was out of position in the 38 minute of play, and Belcho Hlebarov capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Belcho Hlebarov really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. If Manol Pavurdzhiev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tinko Yashov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Belcho Hlebarov in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Belcho Hlebarov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Belcho Hlebarov might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tinko Yashov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Belcho Hlebarov ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Severino Loyola got free with Radoy Gúrgov in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Emil Milushev hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Radoy Gúrgov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Verdini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Severino Loyolas short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Radoy Gúrgov to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. ЦСКА's Radoy Gúrgov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save ЦСКА from getting a goal against them. Tinko Yashov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Belcho Hlebarov's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. After 86 played minutes FC Plovdiv City got a freekick which was hit by Stavri Radinski. When Severino Loyola came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the FC Plovdiv City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severino Loyola couldn't finish the play. Severino Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Radoy Gúrgov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Severino Loyola fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Plovdiv City's protests and gave Severino Loyola a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC Plovdiv City getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Severino Loyola hit a great ball. The ЦСКА support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
