In the 31st minute, Emirgan's Nedim Akbal seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Nedim Akbal the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Emirgan protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Nedim Akbal had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 31st minute of the game. One of Emirgan:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sivas FK:s goal. When the match had been going on for 34 minutes, Sivas FK's Muzaffer İkram got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Fedai Atacan. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Talip Tekindağ sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ergün Ziverbey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Ömür Vecdet made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Sivas FK's Muzaffer İkram got a free kick in the 67th minute. After having played for 76 minutes, Ergün Ziverbey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Emirgan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ergün Ziverbey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Sivas FK were victorious despite being under pressure from Emirgan for much of the match.
