The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 6 minutes of play, Toros Kaplanı's Remzi Yetener made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mehmet Oğuz Kasım was left in no man's land by his defense there! Yıldırım Bala received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Cihan Bergin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 14 minutes, Sermet Çeliker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. HALICISPOR's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sermet Çeliker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mehmet Şefik Ünseven struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Mehmet Oğuz Kasım didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Toros Kaplanı. If Sermet Çeliker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, HALICISPOR's Mehmet Oğuz Kasım got control of the ball when Remzi Yetener tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sermet Çeliker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cihan Bergin having to interfere. Sinan Evcimen kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Mehmet Oğuz Kasım came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Toros Kaplanı's Remzi Yetener. But to his dismay, Remzi Yetener quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Yıldırım Bala to make the kick off. In the 57th minute Remzi Yetener shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mehmet Oğuz Kasım saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mehmet Oğuz Kasım showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remzi Yetener in the 58th minute of the match.
