In the 10th minute, Raşit Elçibey reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tahsin Kapar. The goal made the score 1-0. 13 minutes into the match, LİVERPOOL's goal looked a bit too open when Selman Temizalp came free, but Tahsin Kapar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Gayrettepe's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Davut Cantez came free, but Ahmet Fikret Dilşah reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ahmet Davut Cantez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Ahmet Fikret Dilşah tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th match minute, Gayrettepe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by İsmet Heybetli to maneuver through the defense. 20 minutes into the match, LİVERPOOL's Ahmet Davut Cantez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ahmet Fikret Dilşah narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ahmet Davut Cantez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. LİVERPOOL's Tahsin Kapar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save LİVERPOOL from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Atay Tezveren in the 30th minute of play forced Gayrettepe's goalkeeper Ahmet Fikret Dilşah to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to LİVERPOOL getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Tolga Humbaracıbaşı hit a great ball. With a little luck, LİVERPOOL's Tahsin Kapar got control of the ball when Arif Memduh Belge tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 38th minute of the match, Selman Temizalp tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tahsin Kapar saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Zekeriya Uluberk charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zekeriya Uluberk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, Raşit Elçibey took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Tahsin Kapar to make any attempt to save it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

After 53 minutes, Nedim Dağtekin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the LİVERPOOL and the Gayrettepe players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nedim Dağtekin kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, LİVERPOOL's Fevzi Okboğa tried to score from far away in the 60th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 65 minutes of play, Gayrettepe's Raşit Elçibey made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tahsin Kapar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ahmet Davut Cantez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Fikret Dilşah having to interfere. Ahmet Fikret Dilşah made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Atay Tezveren in the 72nd minute of play. In the 73rd minute, LİVERPOOL's Ahmet Davut Cantez dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. Ahmet Fikret Dilşah came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by LİVERPOOL's Ahmet Davut Cantez. But to his dismay, Ahmet Davut Cantez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. LİVERPOOL's Tahsin Kapar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mümtaz Lebib in the 80th minute of play. Ahmet Davut Cantez received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ahmet Fikret Dilşah came out and tried to block the shot, but Ahmet Davut Cantez slotted it home off the left post making it 3-3 in the 83rd minute. Ahmet Fikret Dilşah made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Atay Tezveren sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Selman Temizalp in the 90th minute of play forced LİVERPOOL's goalkeeper Tahsin Kapar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ahmet Davut Cantez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
