The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hüsrev Hayırlı received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Tokatspor's zone, Selman Temizalp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tibet Ilgıt came out of the goal and Selman Temizalp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Hüsrev Hayırlı managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tokatspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Hüsrev Hayırlı was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ahmet Fikret Dilşah breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ahmet Hafiz Terzioğlu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Ahmet Fikret Dilşah made a huge save. In the 24th minute, Tokatspor's Hüsrev Hayırlı ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ahmet Fikret Dilşah. Ahmet Fikret Dilşah yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Ahmet Hafiz Terzioğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Fikret Dilşah having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Hüsrev Hayırlı reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ahmet Fikret Dilşah. The goal made the score 2-0. If Akgün Guftar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Sungurbey Özgiray hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Akgün Guftar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gayrettepe's supporters rose to their feet, but Akgün Guftar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tibet Ilgıt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 46 minutes into the match, Gayrettepe's goalkeeper Ahmet Fikret Dilşah had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ahmet Hafiz Terzioğlu.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Akgün Guftar was the one to do the kick off. Hüsrev Hayırlı received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. If Hüsrev Hayırlı had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 64 minutes into the match, Gayrettepe's goal looked a bit too open when Hüsrev Hayırlı came free, but Ahmet Fikret Dilşah reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Hüsrev Hayırlı had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Gayrettepe's İsmet Heybetli got a free kick in the 68th minute. 70 minutes into the game, Zekeriya Uluberk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gayrettepe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tokatspor the free kick. Akgün Guftar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Tibet Ilgıt made a huge save. Hüsrev Hayırlı sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ahmet Fikret Dilşah took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hüsrev Hayırlı, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zekeriya Uluberk kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Tokatspor's Gencer Şah tried to score from far away in the 79th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Akgün Guftar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gayrettepe's supporters rose to their feet, but Akgün Guftar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tibet Ilgıt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ahmet Fikret Dilşah came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Tokatspor's Ahmet Hafiz Terzioğlu. But to his dismay, Ahmet Hafiz Terzioğlu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Hüsrev Hayırlı's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ahmet Fikret Dilşah read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Hüsrev Hayırlı struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Ahmet Fikret Dilşah didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tokatspor. For all the effort they put into the match, the Gayrettepe players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Tokatspor.
