When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Yıldıray Kayaalp took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Habib Akgüneş to make any attempt to save it. Gencay Türkyılmaz kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Selahaddin Yumlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ayberk Teber in the 30th minute of play. Denizlispor's Hamdullah Okatan got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 34 minutes into the match, Ayberk Teber notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Serik's Selahaddin Yumlu. Selahaddin Yumlu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 40 minutes, Gencay Türkyılmaz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Denizlispor and the Serik players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Denizlispor getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Selahaddin Yumlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hamdullah Okatan, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. 48 minutes into the match, Serik's goal looked a bit too open when Ayberk Teber came free, but Selahaddin Yumlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The wind increased when Abdulaziz Uruk made the kick off in the second half. Ayberk Teber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Selahaddin Yumlu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot by Baycan Özarkın from long distance, 54 minutes into the match, got Selahaddin Yumlu's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 57th minute Yıldıray Kayaalp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Habib Akgüneş saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the game, Abdulaziz Uruk cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Habib Akgüneş was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Songurhan Yordam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Hamdullah Okatan might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Selahaddin Yumlu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hamdullah Okatan ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Serik's goalkeeper Selahaddin Yumlu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match clock showed 82 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Hamdullah Okatan sped through Serik's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Selahaddin Yumlu. The referee felt a red card was in order, 87 minutes into the game, when Arif Cengiz Osmanlıoğlu put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Denizlispor fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 87th minute. Penalty!
