With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gencalp Kırgız prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Değirmenköy FC's Calle Rudberg in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Erzurum's goalie prevented a goal. 15 minutes in the game, Güngör Sertuğ fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Gencalp Kırgız having to interfere. Mazhar Canıtez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gökmen Civanbaht in the 21st minute of play. Erim Hekimbaşı blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gencalp Kırgız having to make a save. In the 25th minute, İzzettin Özcebe made a precise shot to the right of Mazhar Canıtez. Değirmenköy FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The supporters of Değirmenköy FC booed when Erzurum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saruhan Tümen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Güngör Sertuğ fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gencalp Kırgız having to interfere. After some careless play in the Değirmenköy FC defense, Hilmi Safir kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mazhar Canıtez. The Değirmenköy FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mazhar Canıtez should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erim Hekimbaşı in the 37th minute of play forced Erzurum's goalkeeper Gencalp Kırgız to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute, Değirmenköy FC's Fazlı Demren seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Fazlı Demren the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Değirmenköy FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Fazlı Demren had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Değirmenköy FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 38th minute. Penalty! Derya Savni hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Erim Hekimbaşı recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half Erzurum were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erim Hekimbaşı stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Saruhan Tümen charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Saruhan Tümen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 53rd minute of the game. One of Erzurum:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Değirmenköy FC:s goal. The referee gave Değirmenköy FC a penalty, 55 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Acar Ünseven, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Erzurum's Gencalp Kırgız. 2-3. Gencalp Kırgız took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mustafa Orhan Tezer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gencalp Kırgız didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Erim Hekimbaşı went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Erzurum's zone, Calle Rudberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gencalp Kırgız came out of the goal and Calle Rudberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erim Hekimbaşı in the 70th minute of play forced Erzurum's goalkeeper Gencalp Kırgız to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Calle Rudberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 76th minute Erim Hekimbaşı shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gencalp Kırgız saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erim Hekimbaşı took the ball and in the 99 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gencalp Kırgız. Gencalp Kırgız dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-3. When the referee ended the match the Değirmenköy FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
