When Ahmet Baki İrem fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GARİBAN SK's protests and gave Ahmet Baki İrem a yellow card for diving instead. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for GARİBAN SK! The audience thought a goal was coming when Ali Kağan Canatan got free with Ali Galip Başkara in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. ANADOLU GENÇLİĞİ's Hüseyin Cahit İlter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Behiç Tuyuğ in the 13th minute of play. After 15 played minutes GARİBAN SK got a freekick which was hit by Gencay Oskan. Utkan Oğuzata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Galip Başkara having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, GARİBAN SK's goal looked a bit too open when Utkan Oğuzata came free, but Ali Galip Başkara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute, Utkan Oğuzata fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ali Galip Başkara, passed just outside the right post. In the 30th minute, Suat Balcan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35th minute, one of ANADOLU GENÇLİĞİ:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for ANADOLU GENÇLİĞİ. In the 36th minute there was a penalty for GARİBAN SK. Ahmet Baki İrem stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Hüseyin Cahit İlter. 0-1. If Utkan Oğuzata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Halil Can Ergunalp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 46 minutes into the match, Ali Kağan Canatan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ali Galip Başkara. GARİBAN SK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ali Kağan Canatan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
