An unexpectedly hard shot by 苏树建 in the 16th minute of play forced Ali Daei FC's goalkeeper Stig-Åke Ekegren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rahim Habibi's late challenge caught a Red Army's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sina Taheri to make the kick off.
