The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute, Lall Chohan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. With a little luck, NAGALAND FC's Narinderpal Deol got control of the ball when Nitya Ram tried to sneak it across the goal line. Indrayan Bhardwaj received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Akrodhana Sen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vasantha Rathod scored 2-3 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Akrodhana Sen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Indrayan Bhardwaj had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Narinderpal Deol was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cidananda Kapani showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-3 in the 40 minute of play. In the 43rd minute Lall Chohan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Akrodhana Sen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The wind increased when Lall Chohan made the kick off in the second half. Lall Chohan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Akrodhana Sen having to interfere. After 52 played minutes Purfleet City got a freekick which was hit by Cidananda Kapani. Akrodhana Sen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amarajota Jain in the 53rd minute. After 55 minutes of play, Purfleet City's Charandeep Chawla made it 4-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Narinderpal Deol was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 58th minute, Amarajota Jain got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vasantha Rathod sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 63 minutes into the match, Purfleet City's goal looked a bit too open when Lall Chohan came free, but Akrodhana Sen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Purfleet City's Akrodhana Sen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vasantha Rathod in the 86th minute of play.
