The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Frank Öman the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of ŦƗǤ€ŘŞ protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Frank Öman had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 25th minute ŦƗǤ€ŘŞ were awarded a corner. Thanan Javaus went to the cornerflag to take it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thani Mettarikanon got free with Hamed Velidović in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, ŦƗǤ€ŘŞ's C.J. Curie got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After 44 played minutes, Sheffield FC1857's Tawai Thanomnam shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hamed Velidović came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sheffield FC1857 reached it. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Maxim Curăreanu in the 56th minute of play forced Sheffield FC1857's goalkeeper Paiboon Permpol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 60 minutes into the match, ŦƗǤ€ŘŞ's Huang Xiong sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paiboon Permpol narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Sheffield FC1857's Paiboon Permpol got control of the ball when Huang Xiong tried to sneak it across the goal line. Paiboon Permpol made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Huang Xiong sent off a good shot on target. 84 minutes into the game, Huang Xiong cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Paiboon Permpol was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 89th minute Sayan Kitiwinit shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hamed Velidović saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
