BASEL FC were awarded a corner in the 5th minute after Dragos's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mircea Balaeț took the corner. Hubert Kostka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mircea Balaeț, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hubert Kostka made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lilcho Ilchov in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd minute, Tomás Moise hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yaris Kusumadilaga hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. 27 minutes into the match, BASEL FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kosin Marianto came free, but Nicanor Loiola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dragos were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after BASEL FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rasyid Purbaya took the corner. Dragos's Rasyid Purbaya was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nicanor Loiola in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Pacorro Sisquella received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Nicanor Loiola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th minute, Erik Lamela ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hubert Kostka was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Nicanor Loiola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pacorro Sisquella in the 39th minute of play. After 40 played minutes BASEL FC got a freekick which was hit by Gery Hidayat. When Pacorro Sisquella came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Dragos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pacorro Sisquella couldn't finish the play. If Erik Lamela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erik Lamela could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Hubert Kostka made a huge save. Dragos's Hubert Kostka proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Dragos from getting a goal against them. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Hubert Kostka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Lamela, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Dragos's Hubert Kostka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mircea Balaeț in the 53rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lilcho Ilchov in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hubert Kostka saved Dragos from getting behind. Hubert Kostka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik Lamela in the 58th minute of play. Hubert Kostka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lilcho Ilchov, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. 65 minutes into the match, Tomás Moise notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of BASEL FC's Nicanor Loiola. Nicanor Loiola was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 69th minute Erik Lamela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hubert Kostka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hubert Kostka stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lilcho Ilchov's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. In the 90th minute, Lilcho Ilchov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The BASEL FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Dragos had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
