Seating: 1938, VIP seats: 0) In the 3rd match minute, Thai Binh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hoàng Cong Vinh to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Chuong in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nguyễn Thanh saved Thai Binh from getting behind. Nguyễn Mai might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Trần Dong. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nguyễn Mai ran back to his position shaking his head. When Trần Nam fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kien Giang's protests and gave Trần Nam a yellow card for diving instead. Trần Nam kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Nguyễn Chuong recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Liễu Hoa in the 15th minute of play forced Thai Binh's goalkeeper Nguyễn Thanh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Liễu Hoa couldn't finish the play. 71 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Chuong dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nguyễn Thanh, 0-3. Kien Giang's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
