Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Khairul Lee took the kick off in the first half of the match. 8 minutes into the game, Derby's Rifqi Hongyi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zafran Ching made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Alam Phua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shahron Dhanabalan, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After 19 played minutes Stannington AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ang Peng. If Shahron Dhanabalan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Shahron Dhanabalan came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Stannington AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Shahron Dhanabalan couldn't finish the play. After having played for 29 minutes, Khairul Lee managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Derby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Khairul Lee was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Khairul Lee's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zafran Ching read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wong Tian during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 37th minute, Wong Tian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Khairul Lee took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zafran Ching. Zafran Ching dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Khairul Lee in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zafran Ching saved Stannington AFC from getting behind. In the 48th minute, Azly Ramachandran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Derby were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Shahron Dhanabalan to strike the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the match, Shahron Dhanabalan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alam Phua. Derby's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Shahron Dhanabalan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Derby's Alam Phua played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Khairil Lee in the 67th minute of play. When Derby's Khairul Lee in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Stannington AFC's goalie prevented a goal. If Khairil Lee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 86th minute by Rifqi Hongyi got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Khairul Lee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Khairul Lee kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zafran Ching. That made the score 1-6 in the 91 minute of play. Stannington AFC's Zafran Ching played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Khairul Lee in the 95th minute of play. The Stannington AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Derby's performance. The match ended with a win for Derby.
