Afiz Lam could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Hidayat Butcher made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Woodley FC's zone, Nicholas Laycock stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iskandar Liang came out of the goal and Nicholas Laycock tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nicholas Chee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nicholas Laycock to make the kick off.
