Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Bakar Choo got the match started through his kick off. Ronn Chien-Kwan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hamir Pieng in the 3rd minute of the match. In the 8th minute Bakar Choo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronn Chien-Kwan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Thomson9ers getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Bineesh Hee hit a great ball. 16 minutes into the match, Singapore Wednesday's goalkeeper Ali Tian had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alex Namasivayam. In the 18th minute Gara Sum shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ali Tian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Khai Hsin hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. The corner led Thomson9ers's Azam Hong to fire away a dangerous shot which Ali Tian despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a little luck, Singapore Wednesday's Ali Tian got control of the ball when Alex Namasivayam tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 30thth minute of the game Gara Sum who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Singapore Wednesday's Ali Tian was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Khai Hsin hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute, Zak Hui got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bakar Choo in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ronn Chien-Kwan saved Thomson9ers from getting behind. John Vijiaratnam was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 43 minutes into the match. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Singapore Wednesday! Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gara Sum made a kick off. Alex Namasivayam recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 52 minutes, Khai Hsin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Singapore Wednesday and the Thomson9ers players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 52nd minute, Khai Hsin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hamir Pieng's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ronn Chien-Kwan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. In the 61st match minute, Thomson9ers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zak Hui to maneuver through the defense. Mark Chian hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Namasivayam in the 65th minute of play forced Singapore Wednesday's goalkeeper Ali Tian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Khai Hsin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hamir Pieng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronn Chien-Kwan having to interfere. Hamir Pieng's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ronn Chien-Kwan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alex Namasivayam in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ali Tian saved Singapore Wednesday from getting behind. In the 79th minute, Alex Namasivayam got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gara Sum's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ali Tian read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Zak Hui was shown his second yellow card after 86 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Zak Hui kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Singapore Wednesday's Ali Tian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Namasivayam in the 89th minute of play. Ali Tian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gara Sum in the 92nd minute of the match. When Bineesh Hee fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Thomson9ers's protests and gave Bineesh Hee a yellow card for diving instead. In the 93rd match minute, Thomson9ers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bineesh Hee to maneuver through the defense. In the 94th minute of the match, Hamir Pieng tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ronn Chien-Kwan saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
