Spectators: 9200 (Terracing: 6926, Seating: 2124, VIP seats: 150) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Romi Ginting made the kick off which started today's match. Andi Simamora made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Uum Ie sent off a good shot on target. In the 11th minute of the match, Uum Ie got a very nice opportunity to score, but Andi Simamora was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 13 minutes into the match, Selangor FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bongky Sitepu came free, but Andi Simamora reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Donny Reza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romi Ginting, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Andi Simamora managed to avoid a goal in the 20thth minute, when Sabah's Uum Ie fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Andi Simamora successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Andi Simamora showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bongky Sitepu in the 27th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the game, Bulek Wijaya was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Selangor FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sabah the free kick. In the 29th match minute, Selangor FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bulek Wijaya to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th minute, Hastomo Sembiring fired a really elegant long shot, but Andi Simamora threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. 34 minutes into the match, Haryanto Hans had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andi Simamora. Selangor FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Haryanto Hans was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Selangor FC's Lelo Aswin got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Selangor FC's Pandapotan Romatua got a free kick in the 44th minute. Uum Ie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bulek Wijaya lost his temper 48 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 48 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Selangor FC!

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bongky Sitepu was the one to do the kick off. After 59 played minutes Selangor FC got a freekick which was hit by Pandapotan Romatua. After recieving a nice pass, Sabah's Hastomo Sembiring tried to score from far away in the 60th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Sabah's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ari Pane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Hastomo Pane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 76 minutes, Hastomo Pane managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Selangor FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hastomo Pane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Donny Reza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romi Ginting's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Andi Simamora showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bongky Sitepu, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Haryanto Hans recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Pandapotan Romatua came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Selangor FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pandapotan Romatua couldn't finish the play.
