After 5 minutes TOKYO REVENGERS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joko Febrian who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Penang Island's corner Joko Febrian fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Hernani Alves quite easily take care of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in TOKYO REVENGERS's zone, Bulek Idris stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hernani Alves came out of the goal and Bulek Idris tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, TOKYO REVENGERS's Ulrich Jakobsen got a free kick in the 13th minute. Haryanto Simamora's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hernani Alves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. But to his dismay, Davie McAy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. After 46 played minutes TOKYO REVENGERS got a freekick which was hit by Yahya Hidayat. In the 47th minute of the match, Neymar Aguero tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Hernani Alves saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.
