Darren Wivell started the match with the kick off. Bradley Worrall's late challenge caught a Bolivar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bradley Worrall helped the player get up and apologised. In the 8th minute Darren Wivell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenneth Yard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Bolivar's goal looked a bit too open when Bill Heberle came free, but Lauder Paddle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lauder Paddle was a little too slow when Bradley Worrall got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 20th minute. The score was now 1-1. Bill Heberle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Lauder Paddle made a huge save. Paz Millard's late challenge caught a South Hobart FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paz Millard helped the player get up and apologised. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bolivar! Bradley Worrall walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Antony Mcmahon took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Lauder Paddle to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, Bolivar's Lauder Paddle got control of the ball when Kevin Sedgman tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antony Mcmahon got free with Lauder Paddle in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lauder Paddle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kale Pavkovic in the 38th minute of the match. After 39 minutes, Bradford Cootes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bolivar and the South Hobart FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 39th match minute, Bolivar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bradford Cootes to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Bolivar's zone, Bradley Worrall stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lauder Paddle came out of the goal and Bradley Worrall tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Antony Mcmahon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antony Mcmahon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Lauder Paddle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lauder Paddle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Berny Waterland in the 46th minute of play. When Darren Wivell came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Bolivar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darren Wivell couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antony Mcmahon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Antony Mcmahon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 54 minutes into the game, South Hobart FC's Kevin Sedgman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lauder Paddle made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Kevin Sedgman kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Kale Pavkovic fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauder Paddle having to interfere. Antony Mcmahon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauder Paddle having to interfere. Kevin Sedgman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Antony Mcmahon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute Antony Mcmahon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lauder Paddle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lauder Paddle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kale Pavkovic in the 72nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Bolivar's Darren Wivell slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kenneth Yard. That made the score 3-2 after 75 minutes of play. Paz Millard kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Bolivar's zone, Bradley Worrall stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lauder Paddle came out of the goal and Bradley Worrall tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lauder Paddle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antony Mcmahon's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. In the 86th minute, Kevin Sedgman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 94th minute, Bolivar's Alex Hodson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kenneth Yard. Kenneth Yard yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-3. South Hobart FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
