Handley Boylin struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Andrews Mcvey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for EVATT. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Ramsay in the 10th minute of play forced EVATT's goalkeeper Roger Weeks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes into the game, Stanley Burton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carani's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave EVATT the free kick. Stanley Burton kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Handley Boylin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andrews Mcvey. Carani's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Handley Boylin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Randolph Pfingst managed to get in a good position for a shot. EVATT's supporters rose to their feet, but Randolph Pfingst was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andrews Mcvey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Andrews Mcvey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Handley Boylin in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 34th minute Handley Boylin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrews Mcvey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Randolph Pfingst's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andrews Mcvey read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Randolph Pfingst recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Brock Conlan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carani's supporters rose to their feet, but Brock Conlan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roger Weeks breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Peter Ramsay was the one to do the kick off. Roger Weeks stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Brock Conlan's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. Peter Ramsay's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roger Weeks read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Randolph Pfingst received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Andrews Mcvey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 63 played minutes Carani got a freekick which was hit by Arnold Mckinley. 79 minutes into the game, Carani's Brock Conlan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roger Weeks made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Carani's goalkeeper Andrews Mcvey, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Roger Weeks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brock Conlan, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 90th minute, Cliff Sobczak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 91 minutes into the match, EVATT's goal looked a bit too open when Brock Conlan came free, but Roger Weeks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute, Handley Boylin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 96th minute Peter Ramsay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roger Weeks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. EVATT walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
