Spectators: 7967 (Terracing: 5977, Seating: 1832, VIP seats: 158) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Duncan Stageman took the kick off in the first half of the match. Gregg Jeffress sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Perth Glory getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Tom Grieve hit a great ball. Murphy Paynter's late challenge caught a Convicts's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Murphy Paynter helped the player get up and apologised. In the 18th match minute, Perth Glory was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Malcolm Serena to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duncan Stageman in the 19th minute of play forced Perth Glory's goalkeeper Rolando Borserio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolando Borserio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barnabas Hayman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute, Edmonds Gronow hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Barnabas Hayman in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Borserio saved Perth Glory from getting behind. When Barnabas Hayman came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Convicts fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barnabas Hayman couldn't finish the play. In the 27thth minute of the game Barnabas Hayman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Perth Glory's Rolando Borserio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 29th minute, Gregg Jeffress fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Convicts's Duncan Stageman got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 35 minutes into the match, Perth Glory's goal looked a bit too open when Barnabas Hayman came free, but Rolando Borserio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. George Hodge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Rolando Borserio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rolando Borserio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duncan Stageman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Art Erwin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elliott Baxter having to interfere. Art Erwin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elliott Baxter read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Convicts's Elliott Baxter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Convicts from getting a goal against them. An unexpected shot in the 46th minute by Art Erwin got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gregg Jeffress was the one to do the kick off. The corner led Perth Glory's Lawrence Ritter to fire away a dangerous shot which Elliott Baxter despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Elliott Baxter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gregg Jeffress, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 58th minute Duncan Stageman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Borserio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barnabas Hayman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Borserio having to interfere. If Barnabas Hayman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 68thth minute of the game Art Erwin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Convicts's Elliott Baxter was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 72 played minutes Perth Glory got a freekick which was hit by Gregg Jeffress. 74 minutes into the match, Perth Glory's goalkeeper Rolando Borserio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Barnabas Hayman. Malcolm Serena hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Andre Hitchen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 84 played minutes Perth Glory got a freekick which was hit by Edmonds Gronow. Convicts's Barnabas Hayman got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Duncan Stageman might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rolando Borserio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Duncan Stageman ran back to his position shaking his head. Elliott Baxter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Art Erwin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Art Erwin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Case Rhodes kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Lawrence Ritter was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 97th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Convicts had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
