Matthias Cookesley started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boyce Ambrose in the 6th minute of play forced Quagitup's goalkeeper Ben Minton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruno Hemsley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Ben Minton made a huge save. Bruno Hemsley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Quagitup defense, Boyce Ambrose kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ben Minton. The Quagitup fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ben Minton should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boyce Ambrose in the 19th minute of play forced Quagitup's goalkeeper Ben Minton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute Boyce Ambrose shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ben Minton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Gunyah booed when Quagitup was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arty Heathwood didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bern Meyers struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Jayden Clinton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quagitup. A collision led to Quagitup getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Neil Pike hit a great ball. A hard shot by Myles Cowdell from long distance, 30 minutes into the match, got Ben Minton's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 35th minute, Gunyah's Russel Peach dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. In the 39th play minute Bruno Hemsley came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ben Minton. 3-0. Gunyah's Bruno Hemsley got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bern Meyers in the 46th minute of play forced Gunyah's goalkeeper Jayden Clinton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 49th minute Boyce Ambrose shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ben Minton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Boyce Ambrose to make the kick off. After 59 played minutes Quagitup got a freekick which was hit by Jarvis Mills. 61 minutes into the game, Gunyah's Russel Peach nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ben Minton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Richard Mosley in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ben Minton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 69th minute, Bruno Hemsley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jarvis Mills hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 74thth minute of the game Boyce Ambrose who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Quagitup's Ben Minton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bern Meyers got free with Jayden Clinton in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ben Minton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bruno Hemsley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 79th minute, Jarvis Mills hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Boyce Ambrose came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Gunyah fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Boyce Ambrose couldn't finish the play. Ben Minton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boyce Ambrose in the 85th minute of the match. Bruno Hemsley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
