The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Best Cameron received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Edmundson Shorten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Balgos booed when Lawlers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cod Easther didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Carleton Sinden came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Balgos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carleton Sinden couldn't finish the play. Edmundson Shorten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carleton Sinden in the 27th minute of the match. Bishop Zalunardo's late challenge caught a Balgos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bishop Zalunardo helped the player get up and apologised. Edmundson Shorten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Best Cameron, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute, Earle Lingwoodock got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Best Cameron struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Edmundson Shorten didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Balgos. Best Cameron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmundson Shorten having to interfere. If Dante Hursey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, Best Cameron had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edmundson Shorten. Lawlers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Best Cameron was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Earle Lingwoodock made a kick off. Carleton Sinden's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 51stth minute, Edmundson Shorten skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Best Cameron in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edmundson Shorten saved Lawlers from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Carleton Sinden's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edmundson Shorten was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. In the last second Edmundson Shorten throw himself and got hold of the ball when Best Cameron in the 60thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Ed Mccarthy came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Lawlers's Earle Lingwoodock. But to his dismay, Earle Lingwoodock quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Dugald Kuch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ed Mccarthy having to interfere. Bishop Zalunardo hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Carleton Sinden in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Edmundson Shorten, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Lawlers's Edmundson Shorten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Best Cameron in the 87th minute of play. Edmundson Shorten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Best Cameron in the 94th minute of the match. Bishop Zalunardo was shown his second yellow card after 94 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Despite being the better team, Balgos failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
