Spectators: 7305 (Terracing: 5600, Seating: 1550, VIP seats: 155) Maribyrnong FC's Jaffery Crapp started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When CA Argentinos's Ernest Gaffigan in 3 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Kirby Loch guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Kirby Loch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bryce Fynn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Maribyrnong FC defense, Ernest Gaffigan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kirby Loch. The Maribyrnong FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kirby Loch should have stopped the shot. Kirby Loch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Drake Hickman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernest Gaffigan in the 14th minute of play forced Maribyrnong FC's goalkeeper Kirby Loch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Ernest Gaffigan put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Kirby Loch. In the 20th minute, Drake Hickman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kirby Loch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Drake Hickman in the 23rd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Drake Hickman put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Kirby Loch. Drake Hickman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kirby Loch having to interfere. Ernest Gaffigan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Drake Hickman in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kirby Loch saved Maribyrnong FC from getting behind. 38 minutes into the match, Drake Hickman had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kirby Loch. Maribyrnong FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Drake Hickman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Kirby Loch stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Drake Hickman's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. After 44 played minutes Maribyrnong FC got a freekick which was hit by Downing Rutledge. 47 minutes into the match, Maribyrnong FC's goal looked a bit too open when Drake Hickman came free, but Kirby Loch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Drake Hickman to make the kick off. Ernest Gaffigan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Kirby Loch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Drake Hickman's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 57thth minute, Kirby Loch skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a little luck, Maribyrnong FC's Kirby Loch got control of the ball when Drake Hickman tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 59th minute by Ernest Gaffigan got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Donovan Renny had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute CA Argentinos were awarded a corner. Bryce Fynn went to the cornerflag to take it. Kirby Loch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernest Gaffigan, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. The supporters of CA Argentinos booed when Maribyrnong FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Downing Rutledge didn't get a good kick on the ball. Murphy Waller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernest Gaffigan in the 83rd minute of play forced Maribyrnong FC's goalkeeper Kirby Loch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Drake Hickman who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 89thth minute tested the skills of Kirby Loch when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ernest Gaffigan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kirby Loch having to interfere. Ernest Gaffigan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. CA Argentinos's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
